This Weekend was absolutely stacked with STARDOM, New Japan, All Japan, and more holding major events, but let’s look at what the world of wrestling has in store for us next week!
Recommendation of the Week: Kazuchika Okada vs. Shingo Takagi
The KOPW Champion has the opportunity to once again reign supreme as the IWGP World Champion. With Kazuchika Okada battling the GHC World Champion Kaito Kiyomiya 10 days later, it does seem quite unlikely that that is the case though. There is a possible outcome of Shingo winning because of Kaito, and although I would really love that, I don’t think it will happen. However this is an absolute classic of a matchup, so be sure to check that one out!
NJPW
The other big matchup on the Feb. 11 show is KENTA facing off against Hiroshi Tanahashi. I expect this one to be phenomenal, although there are more great matchups on this card. El Phantasmo challenges Tama Tonga for the NEVER Openweight Title and the two people WWE apparently has an eye on – Jay White and Hikuleo – battle in a Loser Leaves Japan Match.
AEW
The Trios Champions The Elite defend their titles against Top Flight and AR Fox who have recently been very impressive in matches against the BCC among others. Konosuke Takeshita gets the chance to beat the shit out of MJF. To top it off, the final obstacle to overcome for Bryan Danielson is LFI’s Rush.
NOAH
Kaito Kiyomiya has caused quite the uproar by attacking Kazuchika Okada, but this Sunday he’ll defend his GHC Heavyweight Title against the up-and-coming Jack Morris. Dralistico makes his NOAH debut against Atsushi Kotoge.
GLEAT
GLEAT has another awesome show ahead with a UWF Rules match involving Seichi Ikemoto and Maya Fukuda facing Yu Iizuka and Michiko Miyagi. Former Ganbare Pro Champion Hartley Jackson takes part in the event to teaming with Kaito Ishida against Issei Onitsuka and Tetsuya Izuchi.
STARDOM
The Triangle Derby continues this week with 2 more events. The Queen’s Quest Trio has some strong competition, facing RebelxEnemy on Saturday and God’s Eye on Sunday. God’s Eye also needs to take care of 7Upp on Saturday as well.
WWE
After the betrayal from Sami Zayn against the Bloodline, The Usos now need to defend their Tag Titles against Braun Strowman and Ricochet at Smackdown. The Number 1 contender for the IC Title will be decided on Smackdown too between Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar, Madcap Moss and charisma vacuum Karrion Kross. On Raw, Becky Lynch and Bayley will, this time for real, face off in a steel cage match.
JCW
The Jersey J-Cup returns this weekend with a lovely lineup. The first day has a huge matchup between Mike Bailey and Jonathan Gresham. Other people include NOAH’s Dante Leon, Alex Shelley, Billie Starks, DDT resident Joey Janela, Blake Christian, and many more.
GWF
The lovely Scotty 2 Hotty makes an appearance for the German Indie Promotion GWF battling the GWF Champion Pascal Spalter. Bad Bones John Klinger takes on Mike D. Vecchio and NJPW Star Yota Tsuji wrestles Aytac Bahar.
