Here’s a look at the next week as this week’s pro wrestling schedule is beyond stacked with action from all around the world!
Recommendation of the Week: Kenny Omega vs. El Hijo del Vikingo
Omega and Vikingo were scheduled to compete once before in AAA in 2021, but due to Omega’s injury, it got postponed. Kenny vacated the AAA Mega Championship, which Vikingo then won. Now Vikingo could get that win he wanted for the past 2 years to solidify his reign even more.
Aside from the storyline, the fans had wished for this match as well. After the last insane Dynamite episode, it seems Tony Khan wants to follow that up with another one and we are here for it.
DDT
16 matches await us at DDT’s second biggest show of the year. Yukio Naya and Yuji Hino battle for the KO-D Openweight Championship, Naruki Doi and Tetsuya Endo fight for the DDT Universal Title, and Yuki Ueno takes on Samuray del Sol. Konosuke Takeshita will also appear and fight against Sanshiro Takagi.
NJPW
Two people that have both just joined new groups have made it into the Final of the New Japan Cup. SANADA from Just 5 Guys faces off against Bullet Club’s David Finlay. It’s obvious that New Japan is trying something different with their booking. We will see if the newly established people can push NJPW to new heights or not.
IMPACT
IMPACT’s Women’s Division has been stellar for some time now, with Mickie James going on her presumably last run as champion. She defends her title against Jordynne Grace. Mike Bailey once again faces Jonathan Gresham lower on the card. IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander teams with Frankie Kazarian and Rich Swann to take on KUSHIDA and the Motor City Machine Guns.
STARDOM
The Cinderella Tournament starts this week with all the top Stardom talent involved. Matches will be contested under the 10-minute time limit rules. Additionally, the new generation of Joshi talent will be showcased at New Blood Premium this Saturday. It will be interesting to see whether Waka Tsukiyama finally manages to win a match or not.
AEW
The FTW Champion Hook recently won the opportunity to have a No DQ match against Stokely Hathaway. There aren’t any other matches except the Omega/Vikingo match announced up until now, but it will be interesting to see how Hangman’s story continues after the last Dynamite.
AJPW
The NOAH vs AJPW feud continues as Kento Miyahara teams with Yuma Anzai and Ryo Inoue against Masa Kitamiya, Yoshiki Inamura, and Kinya Okada. Yuji Nagata defends his newly won Triple Crown Title against Shuji Ishikawa. KONGO’s Kenoh and Manabu Soya take on Yuma Aoyagi and Naoya Nomura.
WWE
Before facing John Cena at WrestleMania, Austin Theory battles Montez Ford as Asuka and Bianca Belair will try to coexist against Carmella and Chelsea Green. JD McDonagh battles Ilja Dragunov on this week’s NXT.
Warrior Wrestling
El Hijo del Vikingo and Arez battle for the Warrior Lucha Title in what should be a stellar bout. AEW’s Top Flight battles The Velocities, who have been impressive in RevPro against Aussie Open and others. Other talents on the show include Johnny Warrior, Max The Impaler, and Brian Cage.
Prestige Wrestling
The amazing Mike Bailey once again fights Josh Alexander after coming up short against him in a 59-minute classic. Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly give us some womens action on the show. Minoru Suzuki and Alex Shelley will appear on the show as well.
FREEDOMS
Drew Parker will now finally have his last deathmatch teaming with his teacher Abdullah Kobayashi against Jun Kasai and Masashi Takeda. The man Drew Parker lost his title to, Violento Jack defends it against Tomoya Hirata.
